The International Crops Research Institute for the Semi-Arid Tropics (ICRISAT) regional office for eastern and southern Africa, organized a training course on pearl millet improvement and improving seed production at Moshi, Tanzania in November 2011. Among those invited to speak at the workshop was Dr. RS Mahala, Research coordinator from DuPont Pioneer India,, who formed part of the ICRISAT delegation of speakers from India.

Gregory May, senior research manager for Pioneer, was named a Fellow with the American Associate for the Advancement of Science (AAAS) in 2012.

DuPont Agricultural Biotechnology Strategy vice president Barbara Mazur spoke at the Rosalind Franklin Society Annual Board meeting in 2011. Mazur highlighted the role that science plays in meeting the needs of a changing society, and shared her experience as a female scientist in DuPont.

The Iowa Women of Innovation Awards nominated Research Director Hillary Sullivan as a finalist for the 2011 year and Research Director Laura Higgins was a finalist for this award in 2010.

To better understand the differences between maize yield in the United States and China, scientists collaborated on a research project that compared yield rates from U.S. and Chinese germplasm widely grown in either country between 1960 and 2001.

The American Phytopathological Society (APS) recognized DuPont Pioneer research fellow Bill Dolezal with its 2011 Excellence in Industry award.

Research scientist Dr. Joe (Jianzhou) Zhao won the 2011 National Science and Technology Progress Award of China, which is issued by the State Council of China.

DuPont Pioneer researchers demonstrated a context-specific marker assisted selection (MAS) method for improved grain yield, exposing a new paradigm for MAS of traits that are too complex to dissect at the genetic level. The researchers' paper was published in Crop Science magazine.

A research paper written by five Pioneer researchers and four external collaborators was identified by Thomson Reuters Essential Science Indicators as a "Fast Breaking Paper" in the field of agricultural sciences, which means it is one of the most-cited papers in its discipline.

DuPont received three prestigious Agrow Awards in recognition of innovation and excellence in its agricultural product and technology development efforts.

The Iowa Intellectual Property Law Association named Marc Albertsen, a DuPont Pioneer Research Director, as its 2008 Inventor of the Year.
