DuPont Sponsors The Chicago Council on Global Affairs’ Symposium on Global Ag and Food Security

DuPont is proud to sponsor the Symposium on Global Agriculture and Food Security hosted by The Chicago Council on Global Affairs’ Global Agricultural Development Initiative (GADI) on Tuesday, May 24. Bill Gates, cochair and trustee of the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, will deliver the keynote address at the day-long conference which focuses on the U.S. government’s global food security strategy and how long-term U.S. public and private sector support for agricultural development can advance global security and economic prosperity.

DuPont believes collaboration unlocks the answers science provides, and is committed to developing solutions in concert with communities, governments and NGOs who know the “facts on the ground.” And we know the only place to start is by listening and by playing an active role in the conversation. By bringing together thought leaders in one room, we can help foster discussions that will help solve the global food challenge before us.

In addition to Bill Gates’ address, other speakers at the day-long conference include USAID Administrator Rajiv Shah and U.S. Secretary of Agriculture Tom Vilsack. The Council will also release its first Annual Progress Report on U.S. Leadership in Agricultural Development, a report card on U.S. government food security policy development, implementation and resourcing.
