Pioneer Philippines gives back to farming communities

Since May 2011, Pioneer in the Philippines has organized free checkups to corn and rice farming communities in cooperation with the Sibonga Multi-Purpose Cooperative, the Lingion Farmers Association in Manolo Fortich, Bukidnon and Taprimco, and Leyte Farmers Association in Leyte.
The communities received medical consultation and prescriptions from a group of medical professionals who share our same passion - helping farming communities through access to appropriate medical care. Aside from free medical check-up and consultations, the communities were also provided with free medicine and dental care.
"The Filipino farmers are the heroes of the country's aim for food self-sufficiency. However, many of them do not have access to basic medical care and this was a good way of giving back to the rural farming communities," says Jet Parma, country head of the Philippines.
For all of us at Pioneer Hi-Bred, it's rewarding to hear that we're a company that cares for the welfare of our farmers from our farmers.
