New DuPont Pioneer Production Facility Inaugurated in Thailand

DuPont Pioneer has more than 30 years of operations in Thailand, working closely with farmers to improve their productivity and profitability in a sustainable manner. Solidifying our commitment to serve farmers in Thailand and other agriculture markets, is our new production facility in Lamphun.

Alejandro Muñoz, DuPont Pioneer vice president of Global Commercial Business, officiated the inauguration of the new Lamphun plant, along with Somchai Laohaverapanich, managing director of DuPont (Thailand) Limited with DuPont Pioneer regional and country leadership teams as well as local government representatives present.

The new state-of-the-art facility will bring cutting-edge seed production capabilities - from receiving, drying, shelling, conditioning to bagging, including warehousing facilities to the area.

"The new Lamphun production facility is a strong testament to the DuPont Pioneer mission of serving farmers with our products and services, it also brings opportunities for new collaborations and partnerships in Thailand," said Muñoz in addressing employees and guests at the inauguration.

Corn is grown in Thailand by many for animal feed for both export and domestic consumption, with 40% produced for corn grain. Thailand's corn planting area is around 1.1 million hectares of which is 100% hybridized.
