Honorary Plant Breeding Fellowships

The Pioneer Hi-Bred Honorary Plant Breeding Fellowships honor the contributions of 10 outstanding Pioneer plant breeders. These scientists have made significant contributions to developing commercial products that have greatly improved crop productivity. In addition, they have played important roles in mentoring and in advancing plant breeding within Pioneer. The named fellowships are:

These fellowships are intended to promote graduate education in plant breeding and genetics, and are expected to attract high-quality students whose future careers will continue to advance the science of plant breeding.

A Fellowship Committee established by Pioneer will review applications and select recipients based on their qualifications, including academic excellence; proposed study program/area, with consideration given to agronomic crops such as corn, soybeans, canola, sorghum, sunflower, wheat, alfalfa and rice; future professional plans; leadership and other experiences.
