New Century Farmer

Be part of a fantastic education and networking program - the New Century Farmer Program.

The New Century Farmer Program, sponsored by Pioneer and Rabobank (www.rabobank.com) Leaving Pioneer.com (a global ag financial services leader), and Case IH (www.caseih.com) Leaving Pioneer.com (a manufacturer of a wide variety of agricultural equipment) in cooperation with the National FFA Foundation, educates young, prospective farmers about the opportunities and challenges of production agriculture in the 21st century.

Program Overview

As a New Century Farmer, you will participate in an all-expense paid educational seminar held on the Pioneer campus in Johnston, Iowa, each July. This is not a monetary scholarship, nor is there a cash award. During the seminar, you will:

  • Learn how farmers can profit from added-value products, the use of technology, new farm business opportunities and building business alliances with other producers;
  • Learn ways to overcome some of the common challenges faced by young farmers;
  • Grow both personally and professionally; and
  • Network with your peers - a group of extraordinary young people like yourself, who are excited about pursuing production agriculture as a career.

Selection Criteria

Selections will be made based on the following criteria:

  • Candidates must be a student or graduate of a vocational school or college and between the ages of 19-21 with experience in production agriculture.
  • Candidates demonstrate preparation for returning to the career of farming through academic classes, FFA and Supervised Agricultural Experience (SAE) projects and other training or activities.
  • Candidates demonstrate entrepreneurial abilities with a commitment and enthusiasm for farming as a career.
