How to Win the NCGA Corn Yield Contest

The National Corn Growers Association (NCGA) sponsors a national corn yield contest each year. Corn production practices used by contest winners may have application for other contest participants, as well as non-contestants hoping to increase the yield and profitability of their corn production systems. This article summarizes many of the management practices employed by national contest winners from 2005 to 2007.
