The Federal Crop Insurance Corporation (FCIC) has just approved Pioneer for the Biotechnology Endorsement (BE) program, which grants crop insurance discounts for hybrids with lower risks. In other words, planting Pioneer hybrids with Herculex XTRA insect protection now provides even more opportunities for you to maximize your returns on every acre.

Pioneer hybrids with Herculex XTRA insect protection deliver the industry’s broadest spectrum in-plant protection. In fact, they are your only choice for in-plant insect protection against western bean cutworm and black cutworm, and they deliver season-long protection against corn rootworm.

Better yet, growers in 11 top corn-producing states can now get all that yield-boosting protection and save money on crop insurance. The BE Program for Herculex XTRA traits includes non-irrigated corn for grain in IA, IL, IN, MI, MN, MO, OH, SD and WI, as well as irrigated and non-irrigated acres in KS and NE.

Key steps to get started:

Talk to your Pioneer sales professional who will help you select the right Pioneer hybrids with Herculex XTRA in-plant insect protection for your operation.
Plant at least 75 percent of your total corn acres for grain at the insured unit level with Pioneer hybrids with Herculex XTRA insect protection.
Ask your crop insurance provider about saving money on a qualifying plan (APH, CRC, RA) or call PHI Insurance Services at 1-800-433-5597 to have your questions answered by a crop insurance professional.
Then, work with your crop insurance provider for proper paperwork submission throughout the year.
