Suggested Lead: DuPont and Syngenta held a joint press conference at the BIO 2006 conference in Chicago to announce a unique partnership between their seed businesses. Syngenta Seeds and Pioneer Hi-Bred International are forming the seed industry's first 50-50 joint venture -- called GreenLeaf Genetics -- to out-license genetics to other U.S. and Canadian seed companies. What's more - the companies also agreed to cross-license certain corn and soybean traits - including the new Optimum GAT herbicide tolerant trait developed by DuPont.

This is the second business agreement announced this year between Syngenta and DuPont agriculture businesses. In February, the two companies announced an agreement to broaden each company's crop protection product offer.
