JEFFERSON, Wis., May 16, 2008 – Renew Energy and Pioneer Hi-Bred, a DuPont business, today announced an agreement to incorporate revolutionary new ethanol yield reporting technology at the Renew Energy plant in Jefferson, Wis.
“This creates a win-win situation by improving our production efficiencies and providing growers with more information to make better management decisions,” says Jeff White, CEO of Renew Energy.
Utilizing the QualiTrakSM system from Pioneer, Renew can now accurately predict the ethanol yield potential (EYP) for each load of grain brought into the plant, resulting in a feedback loop that can maximize production.
QualiTrak is a new measurement and reporting system that provides predicted ethanol yield information to both plant personnel and corn growers. QualiTrak is the only system that predicts and reports ethanol yield data in gallons per bushel.
Renew will establish a feedback loop through QualiTrak to provide comparative ethanol yield information directly to growers who deliver grain to the ethanol plant.
“The feedback system will help us work with our growers to increase ethanol yields of the grain we are receiving” says White. “With better results comes a better bottom line.”
In addition to the data provided for each load of grain delivered, growers also will receive a detailed report three times per year comparing their ethanol yields with others delivered to the plant.
“This agreement allows ethanol producers to use real-time data to manage the grain feeding their ethanol production process,” says Russ Sanders, Pioneer director of marketing, biofuels. “Growers will be able to take the information they receive from the feedback loop and combine it with their on-farm agronomic performance data to tailor the corn hybrids they plant to maximize their ethanol yield on every acre.”
Pioneer already has evaluated all of its hybrids for ethanol yields and has identified over 170 hybrids that produce higher than average amounts of ethanol. These high total fermentable (HTF) ethanol hybrids are being encouraged for use by growers selling to ethanol plants.
