| Search Tips & Strategies | | To perform a simple search, type one or more words in the Search box at the top of the page and click Search. A list of web pages will be returned that contain one or more of your words. The Search Results will include global content, content from your country, and content from all other countries. Search finds singular and plural forms of words.
The most relevant pages appear at the top of your results. If you are searching on a product number, and an exact match is found, it will appear above other Search results.
Below are tips and strategies to help maximize your results.
-
All Words - By default, your search will use this option. Each result contains all of your search words in any order. If you want to change this option, use Advanced Search and select either Any Words or Exact Phrase.
-
Exact Phrases - On the Advanced Search, choose this option to focus your search on a specific word or phrase. This query will return only pages that have the exact word or phrase you enter. It will not find singular or plural forms of words. For example, if you search on the term product, results including the word products will not be returned.
-
Wildcards - Expand your search by using the wildcard option. You can use an * (asterisk) in front or behind a word or word fragment to expand the search. For example, the term 38F*, will return all results that include a variation of the fragment such as 38F34, 38F33, and 38F70.
-
Case Sensitive - Search, including the Exact Phrase option, is not case sensitive. If you want to search on a case sensitive search, type <case> in front of the word. For example, the entry <case>pH, will only return results that include pH. Pages with ph and PH will not be returned.
