Daniel Glat, regional director, Latin America, Africa, and Asia Pacific, is a 20-year Pioneer veteran. His experience with the business spans across sales, marketing, and management. He started his career with the business as a sales rep, moved to regional sales manager positions in both the South and SP state, and then worked as a marketing manager. Daniel was promoted to Brazil country manager in 1998, and assumed additional responsibilities when he was promoted to director, Latin America, in September 2005. He was promoted to his current position, responsible for three regions, in early-2007.
Under his leadership, the Brazil team increased sales by $127 million in a seven year period. During the same period, his team increased PTOI by $54 million. Daniel has also been responsible for several special projects including the soybeans acquisition and entrance into the soybean market in Brazil. Currently, he is leading an initiative with DuPont Crop Protection and Bunge in Brazil to establish a financing company to better serve our customers.
Daniel earned his bachelor and masters of science degrees in agronomy and plant genetics from the University of Arizona. Prior to joining Pioneer, he was with Ciba Geigy seed division.
Outside of work, he is involved in a social project Pioneer spearheads in Brazil for underprivileged kids with the soccer camp "escolinha de futebol.” As a volunteer, Daniel helps with practices and games every weekend. He also owns a farm in Central Brazil where he plants corn and soy, and his wife is a flower producer in the south.
