Australia Snapshot

Drought is a common occurrence in Australia, especially in the Central Queensland region where, over the past decade, many growers have only been able to plant crops once every two or sometimes three years. This may not sound like a profitable farming strategy, but it enables fields to rest for a couple of seasons and the soil to build up moisture over time, giving growers the opportunity to successfully grow a crop when enough planting rain is received.
