Pioneer Customers Now Can Access AgronomyLink(SM) Resource For Crop Management Information

DES MOINES, Iowa, August 2, 2005 - Pioneer customers now have a new tool to quickly find relevant information about crop management that can help their farming operation. The AgronomyLink(SM) resource, available exclusively on the Pioneer GrowingPoint(SM) website, offers articles, photos and studies from Pioneer and public sources on a host of crop production topics.

"The AgronomyLink resource is a database that has been screened and categorized by Pioneer agronomists to make it easier to find specific agronomic information," said Jeff Talmadge, Pioneer E-business Coordinator. "Users can save significant time finding the answers to their crop management questions by using the AgronomyLink system, compared to using the Internet."

For example, an AgronomyLink system query for corn rootworm offers 27 targeted and useful articles. By contrast, a Web search for corn rootworm results in 69,500 hits, many not directly related to crop production.

GrowingPoint website users can access this site by clicking "Agronomy" then clicking "AgronomyLink" on the right side of the screen. To conduct a search, simply select a crop and category interest, then choose additional categories. The AgronomyLink resource is available cost-free to Pioneer customers registered on the GrowingPoint website.

Pioneer launched GrowingPoint website in 2001 as a way to provide growers with instant access to information they can use to improve business productivity. Today, nearly 60,000 registered users visit the site for weather, market and product information. Advanced features include production decision tools, product performance data, agronomic information and marketing advice. Registered users also can connect directly with their local Pioneer representative.
