Influence of Potassium Fertilizer on Corn Stalk Strength

Stalk performance is known to vary widely among corn hybrids, but little is known about genetic variation in the effects of plant nutrients on stalk strength. Consequently, studies were conducted in eastern Nebraska to determine the effects of potassium (K), plant density and hybrid on maintaining strong stalks until harvest. This article reports the results of that study.
