Summer Jobs - Pioneer Hi-Bred

If you are organized, enjoy working with young people, and have summers off, consider a crew leader position with Pioneer.

Our detasseling crew leaders play a key role in the production of Pioneer hybrid corn. Detasseling is an important step in this process. As a crew leader, you'll manage, motivate, and monitor the progress of your detasseling team.

Crew leader positions are available throughout North America to manage seed corn detasseling efforts. Consider a rewarding experience as a crew leader -- and make good money, too.

As a crew leader, you can expect to make good money if you are organized, like spending time outdoors, enjoy working with teenagers, can keep your team motivated, and provide a safe working environment for everyone. If you can do all of that (plus do a good job detasseling), you may be offered more responsibility in future years. With more responsibility comes the opportunity for you and your team to make more money!

Pioneer crew leaders have made enough money to get a great start on planning home additions, establishing college funds, or taking vacations. Your dreams can come true!

What's a Crew Leader?

Crew leaders are adults (often teachers) who have summers free to manage detasseling or roguing efforts for local Pioneer seed corn production locations. To successfully manage the efforts, leaders have a wide range of responsibilities, from completing paperwork to supervising workers in the field.
