Indonesia: Radio Free Indonesia – Reaching Farmers on the Air

Situation: Access to agronomic information is not readily available to farmers in remote areas of Central Java, Indonesia.
Solution: Pioneer partnered with Radio Suara Tani, a local station, to provide an essential service to farmers.
Result: Through this project, the station was able to increase coverage from a five-mile radius to a 20-mile radius, reaching many more farmers. The station purchased new broadcast equipment, which helped extend the station's reach and the services it provides. Now, farmers can call in to ask about tips for maize farming and Pioneer products, as well as information about yields, prices, markets and more.
