Associate General Counsel
Cornel B. Fuerer is associate general counsel for DuPont Pioneer. Cornel joined DuPont as an attorney in Geneva, Switzerland, in 1995.
From 1995 through 1999, Cornel served in a number of commercial law assignments, counseling several of the company’s business units in Europe, the Middle East and Africa. In 2000, he transferred to the DuPont Hong Kong offices. In this role, Cornel counseled several business units in the Asia Pacific region and represented the Legal function in South Korea and ASEAN. In 2004, he relocated to Wuppertal, Germany, and was appointed Legal manager, Germany, advising the DuPont Performance Coatings unit. From 2007 to 2012, Cornel relocated to St. Louis, Mo., to serve as the vice president, general counsel and company secretary of Solae, by then a joint venture between DuPont and Bunge. From 2012 to 2013, Cornel served as the corporate secretary of DuPont.
Cornel earned his law degree from the University of Geneva School of Law and holds a master's degree from the New York University School of Law. He is admitted to practice law in Switzerland, New York and Iowa.
Gutterson, Neal - Vice President, Research and Development
Vice President, Research and Development
Neal Gutterson, Ph.D., is vice president, Research and Development (R&D) and is a member of the DuPont Pioneer Leadership Team. In this capacity, Neal leads all R&D and product development functions to create innovative agricultural products, services and integrated solutions which combine Pioneer’s industry-leading germplasm, breeding systems, biotechnology-derived solutions, and data analytics.
Neal built his career through a series of progressively more senior research and development roles at biotechnology start-up companies, including Advanced Genetic Sciences and DNA Plant Technology Corporation. In 2002, he joined Mendel Biotechnology as vice president, Research & Development. Neal served as president, chief executive officer and board member of Mendel Biotechnology prior to joining DuPont Pioneer in 2014.
Neal has an extensive history of professional memberships, and he currently sits on the CIMMYT Board of Trustees where he is program committee chair. He is also widely published in scientific journals and is a regular speaker at industry conferences.
Neal holds a Bachelor of Science in chemistry from Yale University and a doctorate in biochemistry from the University of California, Berkeley. He has also attended the Stanford Business School Emerging Companies Executive Program. Neal is named inventor on more than 30 patents and pending patent applications.
Johnson, Timothy - Finance Director
Tim Johnson is DuPont Pioneer Finance director.
Tim joined DuPont Pioneer in 1994, with responsibility for implementing financial systems. He has held a variety of Information Technology and Finance roles, including an assignment in Italy working on Pioneer’s first SAP implementation.
Tim served as finance lead for the Americas region from 2010-2012. In 2012, he was appointed DuPont Investor Relations director. In that role, he was responsible for developing and executing a comprehensive investor communication strategy for DuPont’s Agriculture, Nutrition & Health and Electronics and Communications segments.
He holds an MBA from the University of Iowa and a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Iowa State University.
Lance, Brad - Vice President, Global Integrated Operations
Vice President, Global Integrated Operations
Brad Lance is Vice President, Global Integrated Operations, and moved into this role in 2014. His responsibilities include leading the functions that increase efficiencies and modernize our operational capabilities to serve our customers around the world. Those functions include Production, Production Research, Supply Chain, Engineering, Sourcing and Continuous Improvement.
Brad joined DuPont Pioneer in 1982, serving as the quality control manager for the U.S. Southwestern Division production operations. After a series of customer-facing roles in sales and agronomy, he has held diverse management roles in technical services, marketing, sales, and most recently as the director of the U.S. Heartland Business Unit from 2010 to 2014.
Brad earned his Bachelor of Science in entomology from Texas Tech University.
Munoz, Alejandro - Vice President, Global Commercial Business
Vice President, Global Commercial Business
Alejandro Munoz is vice president, Global Commercial Business, which includes responsibility for all DuPont Pioneer commercial markets worldwide. He moved into this role in 2014 and is a member of the DuPont Pioneer Leadership Team.
Since joining the business in 1981, Alejandro has worked in a variety of geographies – including North America, Europe, Argentina, Mexico, Central America, and the Caribbean. He previously served as vice president, Americas and Global Production; vice president and regional director for North America; and vice president, Europe Operations. He began his career as quality control manager in Latin America.
Alejandro holds a Bachelor of Science degree in agronomy from the University of Costa Rica. He completed specialization courses in finance and accounting at the University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton Graduate School of Business and in marketing at the University of Stanford’s Graduate School of Business.
O'Connor, Judd - Vice President, Integrated Operations and Commercial Effectiveness
Vice President, Integrated Operations and Commercial Effectiveness
Judd O’Connor is Vice President, Integrated Operations and Commercial Effectiveness. In his role, he leads the centralized Operations function, which includes Business Improvement, Engineering, Facilities Services and Real Estate, Production, Sourcing, Supply Chain, and Safety, Health, and Environment. He is also responsible for Global Commercial Effectiveness and the Seed Treatment Enterprise.
Judd first joined DuPont Pioneer in 1999 as an area sales manager and has held various leadership positions in the sales organization, including business director and vice president. Most recently, he served as President, DuPont Latin America.
Judd earned his Bachelor of Science in agriculture business from Kansas State University.
Patrick, Michael - Director, Human Resources
Director, Human Resources
Michael Patrick is the Human Resources (HR) director for DuPont Pioneer. He joined DuPont in April 2012 as Human Resources director of Global Talent Acquisition and served as a member of senior HR leadership teams. Prior to joining DuPont, Michael was vice president - Staffing at Honeywell International, where he was responsible for leading the design and implementation of a global staffing Center of Excellence. Before that, he was director - Workforce Recruitment and Planning for Northrop Grumman Information Technology.
Michael holds an MBA from George Mason University, a Master of Science in electrical engineering from Stanford University, and a Bachelor of Science in electrical engineering from Pennsylvania State University.
Rowe, Jeff - Vice President, Strategic Services and Planning
Vice President, Strategic Services and Planning
Jeff Rowe is Vice President, Strategic Services and Planning, and sits on the DuPont Pioneer Leadership Team (DPLT). In this role, Jeff is responsible for Information Technology (IT), Platform Management and Business Development, EncircaSM Services and for further developing market opportunities for Plenish® high oleic soybeans and next generation soybean output traits. He was named to this role in 2015.
Before assuming this role, Jeff served as the Regional Director for DuPont Pioneer Europe in 2011 and was responsible for leading business operations across continent. He coordinated and led the Pioneer Europe Management Team, including the business units as well as the functional areas of the business such as sales and marketing, supply chain, production, research, legal, communications, government affairs, human resources, finance and administration.
In 2008, Jeff was named Vice President, Biotech Affairs and Regulatory, with responsibility for Pioneer product stewardship; biotech and regulatory affairs; regulatory science and compliance; registration; government and industry relations; community investment; and sustainable agriculture and development.
Jeff started his career with Pioneer in 1995 in Supply Management. He also gained experience working in Research, Information Management and Regulatory. After completing law school, Jeff joined the Pioneer Legal department in 2001 and served as corporate counsel until 2008.
After receiving his Bachelor of Science from Iowa State University in agricultural economics and completing coursework toward a Master of Science in plant molecular biology, also at Iowa State University, Jeff earned his Juris Doctorate from Drake Law School, and a Global Executive MBA from the NYU Stern School of Business and the London School of Economics.
From 2012-2015, Jeff served on the board of directors of the European Seed Association (ESA). In 2013 he was elected to the U.S.-Ukraine Business Council (USUBC) Executive Committee.
Jeff is from a row crop and livestock farm in Illinois where his family has been farming for more than four generations.
Schickler, Paul E. - DuPont Pioneer President

Paul E. Schickler is president of DuPont Pioneer, the advanced seed genetics business of DuPont. In this role, which he has held since 2007, he has continued to expand Pioneer’s global business by remaining focused on innovation that improves local productivity and profitability of farmers in more than 90 countries. Since joining Pioneer in 1974, Schickler has served in a variety of finance and administrative leadership roles throughout the business, including vice president of International Operations from 1999 to 2007. He is a member of the DuPont Operating Team.
Schickler is a graduate of Drake University, where he received Bachelor of Science and Master of Arts degrees in business administration. He currently serves as Board Chair of Grand View University. He is on the Board of Directors of the Cultivation Corridor, The Chicago Council on Global Affairs, The Greater Des Moines Partnership, The World Food Prize Foundation, and the Iowa Business Council. He also serves on the Chicago Council’s Global Agricultural Development Initiative Advisory Group (GADI) and Iowa Partnership for Economic Progress (IPEP). A strong contributor to the community, Schickler is an active supporter of United Way.
