Employee generosity brings holiday cheer to students

In the spirit of holiday giving, the Pioneer Latin Network (PLN) and Pioneer Asian American Network (PAAN) joined together recently to organize a way for Pioneer Hi-Bred employees in Johnston to give back to the community.  Last week all 427 students at Willard Elementary received a book and an article of clothing donated by Pioneer employees. The art teacher also received money to help buy art supplies for the students.

"Being able to help fulfill the wishes of every student at Willard Elementary and make a true impact on their holiday season is very rewarding," says Jenny Chung, a member of PAAN.  "I'm proud to be a part of a work environment that recognizes the needs of the community and finds ways to meet those needs."

This is the fourth consecutive year the diversity networks have delivered gifts to Willard Elementary.  The first year, one of the third grade classes was sponsored, and the following year the sponsorship expanded to all third graders. For the past two years, every child at Willard received a gift.
