Emmanuel Serrano Receives Prestigious Honorary Fellow Award

Pioneer Research manager, Emmanuel Serrano, was awarded the 2011 Crop Science Society of the Philippines (CSSP) Honorary Fellow Award.

The Honorary Fellow Award recognizes individuals who have demonstrated an outstanding contribution in the advancement of crop science in the Philippines through research, teaching, extension or administration in the various crop science disciplines, unselfishly sharing their expertise, developed an industry and contributed significantly to institution building. Specifically, Emmy received this honor for his valuable contributions in the field of corn breeding and research management.

The Federation of CSSP consists of six Philippine societies, including Society for the Advancement of Vegetable Industry (SAVI), Philippine Fruit Association (PFA), Philippine Seed Industry Association (PSIA), Crop Science Society of the Philippines (CSSP), Philippine Association for Plant Tissue Culture and Biotechnology (PAPTCB), and Conservation Farming Movement (CFM). The 21st FCSSP 2011 Scientific Conference hosted over 250 participants in Legazpi City. Participants were experts and workers from all fields of agricultural research, development, extension and the industry.
