Fallow Syndrome in Corn

Early in the 2010 growing season, Pioneer agronomists noticed several contiguous expo corn plots in Johnston, Iowa, had poor growth compared to surrounding plots. The area of reduced growth coincided with an area that did not have a crop planted on it in 2009. Pioneer agronomists noted fallow syndrome was likely the cause. This plot was evaluated throughout the growing season.
