Determine Your Spring Canola Seeding Rate
The following chart is provided as a guideline only. Experienced growers may have developed rates outside of these ranges that are well-suited to their seedbed conditions.
To determine your seeding rate use the chart below:
- Find your seeds per pound value on the chart below and identify the appropriate row for that seed size in the chart.
- Moving left to right, line up your seeds per pound with the column for your seedbed conditions.
IDEAL SEEDBED: firm, moist, weed-free soil at 50° F or above, seeds planted shallow.
POOR SEEDBED: loose, lumpy, overly wet or dry soil, below 40° F, high weed competition.
